CANVAS TUTORIAL

Canvas is a powerful platform with an intuitive user interface, making for an enhanced learning experience. Click here to begin learning how to use Canvas.

PASSWORD HELP

Students login using external identities (Google, Facebook and LinkedIn) to most of OPWD's Professional Development courses. If you’re having trouble logging in, we suggest you:

  • Ensure you’re using the same internet browser you typically use.
  • Can you log in to your external account? Clear your cookies, log in, then try accessing your Canvas course.
  • Bookmark the right link? External identities is only available on the web. Click here for the web page.

If you can’t log into your Google, Facebook or LinkedIn account, you’ll need to go through that platform first to reset your password.

For enrollment help please review the Registration Guide.

SUGGESTED BROWSERS & COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS

Make sure your browsers are set to the most current version of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Some older versions of these browsers will be unable to fully support Canvas’s updates.

Please note that when you use Canvas, you will need to disable pop-up blockers and allow your browser to install Java.

Some courses may require Microsoft Office. If you do not have Microsoft Office, check out Microsoft OneDrive for a free solution.

ACCESSING YOUR COURSE

Please follow these simple steps to access your course:

  1. Login here: https://reg.distance.ufl.edu/reg/Lms/Login/
    • Bookmark this login portal.
  2. Login using the authentication method of choice.
  3. Go to the Courses drop-down menu at the top and select the course to enter.
CANVAS APP

While most of the features of your online course are mobile and tablet compatible, we do not recommend downloading the Canvas app. Professional Development courses are the first courses on UF’s campus to implement external identities (using Google, Facebook or LinkedIn to log into your course), and the feature is not yet available on the app. Therefore, you will not be able to access your course through the app.

Instead, bookmark the Professional Development special login page on your computer, tablet and cell phone’s web browsers to connect to your course anytime, anywhere.
